After the acquisition of Nokia it became imperial for Microsoft to streamline the solutions to enable full integration of the software and product teams. In accordance to Microsoft policy of utilizing Visual Studio and Sharepoint as main solutions, initiatives to deploy them to phones R&D were rapidly started.

Greitco, a Microsoft Partner, helped Microsoft to deploy Team Foundation Server to phones R&D teams in matter of few months as well as an intermediate R&D capacity management solution utilizing Sharepoint.
